ON THE GROUND PRODUCTION
INDIAN WEDDING SPECIALISTS IN ITALY

Italy is extraordinary.
Your wedding should be too.

Italy is an extraordinary setting for a South Asian wedding –particularly when the celebration is large, multi-day and highly produced.

At distinctive indian weddings, we have extensive experience planning and producing Indian, Hindu, Sikh, South Indian and other south Asian weddings in italy, including celebrations for 200, 250 guests and more over several days.

These are not simply weddings with an Indian ceremony added to an Italian venue.

They can involve multiple events, specialist catering, religious ceremonies, elaborate decor, entertainment, accommodation and transport, with guests arriving from around the world.
We understand how all of these pieces need to work together.

Not every couple wants every event.
We build the weekend around your family rather than fitting your wedding into a package.

HINDU WEDDINGS IN ITALY

For a Hindu wedding in Italy, the ceremony is one of the most important considerations when selecting the venue.

There needs to be suitable space for the Mandap, priest, sacred fire and guests, as well as a practical solution for any venue restrictions concerning fire, cooking, music and timing.

We work with Hindu priests who conduct ceremonies in Italy and coordinate the practical requirements with the venue and production team.

A Hindu ceremony in Italy is generally a religious ceremony rather than a civil marriage, so couples should also consider the legal requirements for their marriage in their home country.

INDIAN WEDDING CATERING IN ITALY

Catering is paramount at an Indian wedding.

We work with specialist Indian caterers and chefs experienced in destination weddings and large guest counts, creating menus ranging from Gujarati, Jain, Punjabi and South Indian cuisine to regional and contemporary Indian menus.

Some families want exclusively Indian food. Others combine Indian and Italian menus across the different events.

DÉCOR, MANDAPS & PRODUCTION

A large Indian wedding can completely transform an Italian venue.

A historic villa can become the setting for a spectacular Mandap, while gardens, courtyards, terraces and ballrooms can be designed for Mehndi, Haldi, Sangeet and the reception.

Our production and floral teams coordinate custom Mandaps, floral installations, lighting, furniture, stages, backdrops, ceremony décor, sound, entertainment and special effects where permitted.

The objective is not to cover up the Italian setting. It is to use the architecture, gardens and landscape as part of the design.

WHAT DOES A SOUTH ASIAN WEDDING IN ITALY LOOK LIKE

Experience. Planning. Execution.

A beautiful Italian villa does not automatically make a good Indian wedding venue.

For 200 or 250+ guests, we look at catering facilities, production access, parking, transportation, accommodation, noise restrictions, ceremony requirements and weather contingencies, as well as how hundreds of guests will move between events. Logistics matter greatly.

A three-day wedding can mean three different productions being built and dismantled within the same weekend.

DIW has extensive experience producing large Indian and South Asian weddings for 200, 250 guests and more, including complex multi-day celebrations with significant catering, floral, entertainment and technical production.

WHERE ARE THE BEST PLACES FOR AN INDIAN WEDDING IN ITALY

The Right Setting for Your Celebration

TUSCANY

Tuscany is particularly strong for large Indian weddings, with grand villas and private estates. Some properties allow a complete estate buyout, and in rare cases can accommodate 200 or more guests on the property — an extraordinary option for families wanting complete privacy and everyone under one roof.

FLORENCE

Florence offers Renaissance palaces and villas, historic properties and private gardens in the heart of the city

LAKE COMO

Lake Como offers extraordinary villas and scenery, although large guest counts significantly narrow the options and this region is best for 100 to 150 guests.

PUGLIA

Puglia provides a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere and beautiful masserie.

SICILY

Sicily offers something particularly dramatic: seaview castles, and extraordinary private villas overlooking the Mediterranean.

ROME

Rome brings grand historic venues together with the convenience of a major international city.

We don't recommend venues simply because they photograph beautifully. We look at whether they can actually accommodate your guest count, ceremonies, entertainment, catering and the way you want your wedding weekend to unfold.

Indian and south Asian weddings are incredibly diverse. Hindu, Sikh, South Indian or multicultural Indian weddings may have completely different traditions and priorities.

We don't assume that every family wants the same thing.

The result should not feel like an Indian wedding dropped into an Italian villa.

It should feel like your wedding - with Italy making it even more extraordinary.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does an Indian wedding in Italy cost?
The cost of an Indian wedding in Italy depends on the number of guests, the destination, the venue, the number of events and the level of catering, décor, entertainment and production required. For a luxury multi-day celebration, the investment can range from several hundred thousand euros to well over €1 million for particularly elaborate celebrations. Guest numbers are one of the biggest factors because they affect venue requirements, accommodation, catering, transportation and event production. Current industry guidance similarly places large luxury Indian celebrations substantially above the cost of a conventional destination wedding.
How much does a luxury Indian wedding in Italy cost for 150, 200 or 250 guests?
There is no single price because two weddings with the same number of guests can have very different requirements. A 200-guest celebration across three days, with several events, luxury accommodation, specialist Indian catering and substantial production, requires a very different investment from a single wedding day. As guest numbers increase, venue capacity, accommodation, catering, transportation and production become increasingly important considerations. Some current specialist estimates put 200-guest Italian Indian weddings from around €200,000–€250,000 before the most elaborate requirements are added.
Why are Indian weddings in Italy so expensive?
A large Indian wedding in Italy is considerably more complex than a conventional destination wedding. The investment can include exclusive-use venues, multiple days of celebrations, specialist Indian catering, Mandap construction, floral design, entertainment, staging, lighting, accommodation, guest transportation and extensive production. For a large wedding, there may also be several different event environments to create and dismantle during the same weekend. The cost reflects the scale and complexity of producing the experience, not simply the wedding ceremony itself.
Where are the best places in Italy for an Indian wedding?
The best destination depends on the size and style of the celebration. Tuscany is particularly well suited to large multi-day weddings because of its private estates and expansive grounds. Lake Como offers extraordinary villas and scenery but becomes more challenging as guest numbers increase. Puglia is attractive for large celebrations because of its masserie and spacious Mediterranean settings, while Sicily offers dramatic coastal villas and historic properties. Rome provides grand historic venues and excellent international accessibility, while Florence combines Renaissance architecture with elegant villas and gardens.
If you are considering an Indian, Hindu or South Asian wedding in Italy, particularly a multi-day celebration for 150, 200, 250 guests or more, we would love to discuss what is possible.
